Oasis FTB Pack 1.7.10 Debug Team! Please Read!

Hello and Good Morning!

So, as we have been chatting about it in the other pack thread, Oasis is slowly but surely getting an FTB Pacl going after a long spell of inactivity. I have been a huge fan of FTB for a long time, so myself and Pax are the main people heading this up for now. Anyway, as a little Memorial Day Weekend treat and to celebrate summer being here, we have decided to put a semi-finalized pack up for you all to play at your leisure in single player!!!

(Please don't complain about the chosen mods, we are trying to keep this a smaller pack so more people can play, so we only have what is absolutely necessary for now. We may consider adding a mod if you can really explain why it would make the game and server more enjoyable and a better place.)

There are several ways for you to go about loading this modpack into minecraft, if you are good with forge, just do that with your .minecraft file. You could also replace the mods and config folder in a random ftb pack you download off their launcher (Lite 3 or Infinity or something). Orrr, and this would be my main suggestion, go watch this Direwolf20 video [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf2y1D8wMdU ] nicely supplied by Dr.Crazy, and download curse voice in the description. Then, these are the steps to take to make the mod pack quick:

-Download and get curse voice set up

-Download zip of mod pack:

-Click Install Modpack (Custom Profile)

-Name it (Oasis FTB Pack) and choose the latest version of forge

-Open My Documents>Curse>Minecraft>Instances>Oasis FTB Pack

-Delete the empty mod folder from there

-Drag and drop the mods and configs folder from zip into the folder

Ta-Da! Now just go back to the curse voice and click play! Please add me as a friend (BiggJ39) on there to chat about any bugs, crashes, and just chill! Although we want you to have fun, it is also a learning experience for us so that we can address any crashes and conflicts before going live. We had some headaches last time (conduits+ender tank=epic crash, never shoot the moon with a portal gun, etc...) so this is actually pretty important to us.

The best way to debug is just play the game like you would normally, start a new world, go mining, and just play. That will expose more glitches and such than trying to purposefully make it happen.

Some things to keep in mind:
-Ore Generation
-World Generation
-Magic Glitches (Spells not working, visually being weird, etc.)
-Tech Conflicts (Pipes not connecting or not working, etc.)
-You get the idea, anything weird or game breaking

So there you have it! Have fun, be vigilant, and don't crash too much!!!

got her downloaded, she worked fine, laggy as expected, i do think we need railcraft added though, railcraft adds to many blocks that make building awesome

Thanks for playing with it! Hope you have fun! With railcraft, I removed it because rails are made kind of obsolete with other tech mods, quarried stone is easily replaced by marble from chisel 2, and abyssal stone can be replaced by skys tone from AE2. Again this is just my opinion, but that was my justification of not having it, everything it does, another mod can do it better. Besides rails of course.

Oh! And for lag, try turning your mipmap levels down to 1 or off. That has helped me alot. Also optifine totally works with this pack, I use it, so that's another option!

when i made the world i got lag as expected but after that i changed some settings and got good fps, and as for what you said will replace railcraft, that will work

I sadly own a macbook, so that means curse doesn't work for me :/. I'll have to set up the modpack the old-fashioned way, which takes time that I don't have today anymore. awesome modpack im loving it alot but the only other mod i think is a must is modular power armour. The modpack is still awesome without it but i think it would be better with it. Plus no bug problems for me as of yet but ill update if i come across anything

Is that out for 1.7 yet? last I checked it still wasn't updated, but if it is then definitely want the power suits!
